Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Solaire Report. My name is John Titus. I am the co-host and co-producer of Money and Markets with Catherine Austin Fitz. Today, I am joined by Ian Davis, who has just published a terrific new book called The Technocratic Dark State, Trump, AI, and Digital Dictatorship.
I can tell you, as I told Ian when we talked about this book, it’s one of two books that I’ve read cover to cover in the last 20 years. It is absolutely masterful summary of what the tech bros have been up to. I’ve been kind of watching like, what are they up to?
Ian’s book nails it and describes in excruciating detail what they’ve been doing over the last 20 years and really beyond. There’s several examples from the late 90s where everything sort of fits into place when you read this book. And the book is very thoroughly researched and very well written.
Ian understands how to write and it paints a very dark picture of the digital plantation that we’re all headed for unless we get together and slam on the brakes to avoid the nightmare described in his title, the title of the book, The Digital Dictatorship. Ian is here today. I am pleased to report to talk about this book.

In early November, Solari published my review of Iain Davis’s book, The Technocratic Dark State: Trump, AI, and Digital Dictatorship—a book I consider an absolute must-read.
Davis is an independent investigative UK journalist and author who publishes at his own website as well as at other New Media outlets such as Unlimited Hangout. The Technocratic Dark State is his fourth book. As I wrote in my review, The Technocratic Dark State “provided so many penny-drop moments that I lost count of them.” For that reason, I was eager to do an interview with him to dive into some of his most critical insights.
Our discussion starts with how money creation relates to the “tech bros,” with Davis’s compelling argument being that the partnership between old-line money creators and Big Tech facilitates two important goals: the continuation of U.S. dollar hegemony and central control of the population. We also explore the concept of “interoperability,” a term I once wrongly dismissed as an empty buzzword.
From there, we take a look at the so-called Dark Enlightenment, consider the tech bros’ use of deception, and discuss features of the digital gulag, including digital IDs, as well as Davis’s ideas about how to resist.
On the topic of resistance, Davis fittingly ends his book with a useful reminder from 16th-century French philosopher and magistrate Étienne de La Boétie:
“Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces.”

Some crucial facts about the banking system:
Banks do not hold money, and they do not lend money either.
They create money out of thin air.
When someone deposits money with a bank, the bank does not store that money; it simply invents the corresponding amount and adds it to its accounting records.
When a bank lends money, it does not transfer money.
It simply enters the corresponding amount into the debtor’s account, thereby inventing money out of thin air.
A banking license is essentially the permission to invent money.
As long as banks lend money to entrepreneurs and self-employed people so that they can invest in their businesses, the creation of money is justified.
This is especially true for lending to small and medium-sized enterprises, as these are the backbone of the economy.
It’s not the few large corporations that create most jobs, but the countless small and medium-sized enterprises.
They are the ones that ensure healthy competition and innovation.
The number of smaller banks, which are naturally responsible for these productive loans, has declined significantly in recent years.
This inevitably has dramatic negative consequences for smaller businesses, thus inhibiting productivity, innovation, and job supply.
Loans for consumption (consumer credits) or for the purchase of shares or real estate increase the money supply in circulation without providing additional productivity and inevitably lead to inflation.
In recent years, consumer credits and loans for investment in non-productive assets have increased dramatically, leading to high inflation.
The average citizen is suffering enormously from the constant increase in consumer goods prices.
Furthermore, due to the overpriced property prices, most people are unable to afford to own a home.
They have to pay a considerable part of their incomes for exorbitantly high rents.
In the area of stocks and real estate, the constant price increases are often misinterpreted as a boom. Investors are pumping ever more money into these markets, thus inevitably creating a gigantic bubble.
In the expectation that the considerable price increases will continue and in the hope of offsetting the losses caused by inflation, the stricken citizens often invest their last savings or borrowed money in the stock market, thereby further contributing to the inflation of the bubble.
Essentially, this is a gigantic Ponzi scheme in which the average citizen can only lose. Unlike banks and major investors, they can hardly predict the time of the inevitable collapse.
The whole thing is a massive system of fraud that has been repeated at regular intervals for decades and consistently leads to a transfer of wealth from the bottom to the top.
The problem is not capitalism.
The problem is that, contrary to widespread assumption, we do not have a free market economy.
The increasing globalization of recent decades, which is inevitably linked to centralization and overregulation, unilaterally favors large corporations and destroys the middle class.
This system is neither capitalistic nor merocratic.
It has more in common with communism, whose core feature is extreme centralization.
In any case, this has nothing to do with democracy and a free market economy.
It is, rather, an autocratic oligarchy or corporatism.

All fiat (not generated by the market economy and having no tangible standard of value) currencies have the feature known as the “velocity of money” which, IMO, is tantamount to the rigged game which the late George Carlin called the club none of us can join. We should stop referring to the “Federal Reserve” Dollar as the “U.S. Dollar”. The U.S. Dollar pursuant to the Coinage Act of 1792 is “… to contain three hundred and seventy-one grains and four sixteenth parts of a grain of pure, or four hundred and sixteen grains of standard silver[.]” The corruption of the Federal Reserve” Dollar began its peak on January 1, 1965 when nickel plated copper coins replaced most U.S. 90% silver coinage (while Kennedy halves briefly retained 40% silver for a few years) and achieved total corruption on August 15, 1971 with the gold forfeiture of the Bretton Woods Agreement under the Nixon Administration. That corrupted Federal Reserve Dollar doesn’t deserve to be a world reserve currency any more than the Zimbabwe Central Bank Dollar.

Sorry, but the wonderful author here does not understand, nor explain, that the new digital system will not be a monetary system, for the people, at all — as that is only a promised, temporary, phase.
The new digital system is a total control system of the people — who will be controlled and incentivized not by money at all, but by a digital token (reward & punishment) system. The surviving population will own nothing at all, and will not have any access to digitalized monetary values under their own control…
If confused, think about an elementary school teacher who uses teacher created “tokens” as incentives to motivate the children in class. In this incoming digital situation — on a global scale, which will be combined with wireless and other technological communication means, an individual will experience instant control over every aspect of function and life.
